Magnetic Drive Pumps Manufacturer & Supplier | China Industrial Pump Network

OVERVIEW

Magnetic Drive Pumps Selection Guide

Magnetic drive pumps provide zero-leakage, seal-less operation through magnetic coupling, eliminating mechanical seals and emissions. Ideal for hazardous, toxic, expensive, or environmentally sensitive fluids where leakage is unacceptable.

Common Applications

Chemical transfer and circulation
Pharmaceutical and biotech
Semiconductor wet processing
Solvent recovery and distillation
Refrigerant and heat transfer fluids

Typical Media

Hazardous and toxic chemicals
Solvents and VOCs
High-purity fluids
Acids and corrosives
Expensive or rare materials

Key Standards

API 685 (sealless pumps)
ISO 15783
ASME B73.3 (ANSI magnetic)
CE/PED certified

SELECTION CONSIDERATIONS

How to Choose the Right Pump

Temperature Limit

NdFeB magnets to 150C, SmCo to 350C. Above 150C requires magnet cooling or high-temp magnet grade. Elastomer selection must match temperature.

Solids Content

Standard designs handle below 0.5% solids by weight. For slurries, specify silicon carbide bearings and flush plans. Avoid dry running.

Material Selection

316L for general service, Hastelloy C for strong acids, duplex for chlorides, PFA/PTFE lined for highly corrosive. Containment shell material critical.

Efficiency and Power

Magnetic drive pumps have 2-5% lower efficiency due to coupling losses. Upsize motor accordingly. Check maximum torque rating for start-up.
