Slurry & Wastewater Pumps Manufacturer & Supplier

OVERVIEW

Slurry & Wastewater Pumps Selection Guide

Heavy-duty slurry and wastewater pumps handle abrasive solids-laden fluids in mining, mineral processing, and municipal/industrial wastewater. Features include wear-resistant materials, large passages, and robust construction for continuous duty.

Common Applications

Mining and mineral processing
Tailings and ash handling
Municipal wastewater treatment
Industrial effluent and sludge
Coal washing and beneficiation

Typical Media

Mineral slurries (ore, tailings)
Sewage and sludge
Fly ash and bottom ash
Sand and gravel mixtures
Industrial wastewater with solids

Key Standards

ISO 9906
ANSI/HI 12.1-12.6 (rotodynamic slurry)
CE/PED certified

SELECTION CONSIDERATIONS

How to Choose the Right Pump

Solids Characteristics

Consider particle size (D50, D85), concentration (% by weight), specific gravity, and abrasiveness. Hard iron for coarse particles, rubber for fine slurry.

Wear Life Expectancy

Calculate wear rate based on velocity, concentration, and particle hardness. High-chrome iron (60 HRC) offers 3-5x life of cast iron. Plan spare parts.

Seal Selection

Packing with flush for slurries; mechanical seals for cleaner wastewater. Double seals with barrier fluid for hazardous or toxic sludge.

Pump Speed

Lower speeds (900-1200 RPM) extend wear life for abrasive slurries. Higher speeds increase head but accelerate wear. Match impeller speed to duty.
