Product Description

The Magnetic Drive Pump is a seal-less centrifugal pump that uses magnetic coupling to transmit torque without a mechanical seal, providing 100% leakage-free operation. Its containment shell isolates the process fluid from the atmosphere, making it ideal for hazardous, toxic, and expensive fluids. The pump handles flow rates from 1 to 100 m³/h at heads to 80 m and temperatures to 200°C, with 304/316L stainless or Hastelloy wetted parts. Suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor applications requiring zero emissions.

Applications

  • Hazardous chemical transfer
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Semiconductor industry
  • Refrigerant handling
  • Expensive chemical recovery
  • Toxic liquid transfer

Quality Assurance

All Magnetic Drive Pumps are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management system. Each pump undergoes rigorous testing including hydrostatic pressure test, performance test, NDT inspection, and dynamic balance verification before shipment. We provide comprehensive documentation including test reports, material certificates, and operation manuals.

Why Choose Our Magnetic Drive Pumps

Chemical Mixed Flow Design

Mixed flow centrifugal pump combining high flow of axial flow with higher head of radial flow, suitable for large-volume chemical circulation.

High Flow Medium Head

Flow rates up to 5,000 m³/h at medium head 10-50m, ideal for evaporation, crystallization, and large-scale process circulation.

Corrosion-Resistant Options

Available in 316L, duplex, and fluoroplastic lined construction for corrosive chemical service in large-scale processing.

Low NPSH Requirement

Mixed flow impeller design provides low NPSHr, suitable for hot liquids and vacuum evaporation services where NPSH is critical.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a magnetic drive pump work?

An outer magnet assembly on the motor shaft drives an inner magnet assembly attached to the impeller through a stationary containment shell. No shaft penetrates the pressure boundary, achieving zero leakage.

What are the main advantages of magnetic drive pumps?

Zero leakage (no seal to fail), lower maintenance (no seal replacement), reduced environmental risk, and lower total cost of ownership for hazardous fluid service.

What fluids should NOT be pumped with magnetic drive pumps?

Highly abrasive fluids, fluids with large solids (>1-2mm), highly viscous fluids (>500 cP), and fluids with poor thermal conductivity. These can cause bearing wear, clogging, or magnet overheating.

What happens if a magnetic drive pump runs dry?

Dry running causes rapid bearing wear and magnet temperature rise. Permanent magnets can demagnetize above their Curie temperature (typically 120-350°C depending on magnet material). Install dry-run protection.

Selection Guide

✅ When to Choose This Pump

  • Hazardous, toxic, or expensive chemicals
  • Zero-emission environmental requirements
  • High-purity pharmaceutical and semiconductor
  • Reducing maintenance on mechanical seals

⚠️ When NOT to Choose

  • Fluids with suspended solids (abrasive)
  • High viscosity above 200 cP
  • Fluids that crystallize or polymerize
  • Very high temperatures above 350C

💡 Common Selection Mistakes

  • Running dry (destroys bearings instantly)
  • Not filtering fluids to <100 microns
  • Ignoring magnet temperature limits
  • Using with gas entrainment
