Product Description

The API 610 BB2 is a horizontally mounted, between-bearing, radially split, single-stage double-suction centrifugal pump engineered to meet the stringent requirements of API Standard 610 (ISO 13709) for petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. The BB2 configuration features a radially split casing with double-suction impeller, providing excellent hydraulic stability and low NPSH requirements. The between-bearing design supports the rotor at both ends, minimizing shaft deflection and extending seal and bearing life under high-pressure conditions.

Applications

  • Petrochemical plants
  • Oil & gas refining
  • Crude oil pipelines
  • Power generation
  • High-pressure water injection
  • Hydrocarbon processing

Quality Assurance

All pumps are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management system. Each pump undergoes rigorous testing including hydrostatic pressure test, performance test, NDT inspection, and dynamic balance verification before shipment. We provide comprehensive documentation including test reports, material certificates, and operation manuals.

Why Choose Our API 610 Process Pumps

Between-Bearing Rigid Rotor

Shaft supported at both ends with heavy-duty bearing housings, minimizing shaft deflection at seal face to ≤0.05 mm per API 610. Extends mechanical seal life in high-pressure hydrocarbon service.

Double Volute Radial Force Balance

Double volute casing design balances radial hydraulic forces across the entire operating range, reducing shaft bending and bearing loads for stable operation from minimum flow to 120% of BEP.

Centerline Mounting for Thermal Growth

Centerline-supported casing accommodates radial thermal expansion at temperatures up to 450°C, maintaining shaft alignment and preventing pipe strain during startup and shutdown cycles.

High-Pressure Capability

Rated for discharge pressures up to 50 bar with cast steel or duplex stainless casing, suitable for crude oil pipeline boosting, water injection, and high-pressure process circulation in refineries.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between BB1 and BB2?

BB1 has an axially split casing, while BB2 has a radially split casing. BB2 is preferred for higher pressure and more hazardous services due to its stronger casing design.

What seal flush plans are available?

Standard API flush plans including Plan 11, 21, 32, 53A/B/C, and 54 can be configured based on service requirements.

Can this pump handle high-temperature hydrocarbons?

Yes, with appropriate material selection and cooling systems, the BB2 can handle hydrocarbons up to 400°C.

Selection Guide

✅ When to Choose This Pump

  • Refinery and petrochemical process service
  • High-temperature (above 150C) hydrocarbon pumping
  • Critical service requiring API 610 compliance
  • High-pressure injection and transfer duties

⚠️ When NOT to Choose

  • Low-pressure water utility service (over-specified)
  • Strong acids requiring fluoroplastic lining
  • Solids-laden slurries (requires slurry pump)
  • Below-grade sump applications (use vertical sump)

💡 Common Selection Mistakes

  • Ignoring NPSH calculation for hot hydrocarbons
  • Using single seal for toxic/flammable service
  • Not specifying centerline mounting for >150C
  • Under-sizing motor for specific gravity >1.0
